As a child, Kim Toi was raised with Chinese herbal medicine because her father was an herbalist. She used to lock herself up in a room to muse over pages with pictures of ancient looking men studying acupuncture points and read books about different plants and Chinese herbs. As the Chinese saying goes 良药苦口利于病 “beneficial medicine that cures is bitter to taste”.

Mission: As ironic as it sounds, my goal is preventative medicine. If I have it my way, I would like everyone to stay well, live well and never be sick, for this is the basic philosophy of Oriental Medicine.
Chapter Two of Nei Jing Su Wen (Inner Classic, Simple Questions ) ::: "Therefore the superior physician does not treat already diseased, but helps before development of disease and not waits to treat symptoms….. When already diseased needing medication, already sick then treats the person would be like digging well after feeling thirsty … won’t that be too late?"
